We have been buying, selling, trading, and appraising books in Kalamazoo for over 35 years. Our mission is to provide our customers with new and used titles in their best conditions. Stock changes on a daily basis. We regularly order new books to maintain a good balance of current and upcoming titles with older favorites. Most of our used books come from our customers.
Trade-Ins
We award store credit for clean, unmarked books based on need and available space. These trade-ins are evaluated on a book-by-book basis. We take into consideration the book’s age, desirability, current and historic market value, in-print price, condition, and number we currently have in-store. The more recent a title was released, the more likely we’ll be interested in it. We do not take in or sell textbooks. Store credit may be used on any used books.
We can easily take a look at small numbers of trade-in books during our business hours. If you have a large batch of good-quality used books you’d like us to consider, please call beforehand.
Rare Books
We make an effort to carry signed, rare, and first editions, many of which have been unearthed locally. Gloria is trained to identify first editions and rare copies, and she is happy to help you identify a new treasure or price an old one. These books constitute most of our online business. Please note that our stock online is separate from what we sell in our stores!
