Excite your Mind
We partnered with Paramount Charter Academy to bring local storytellers & the wonderful PJ Masks for Preschool Storytime in the morning. Things got cooking around one, when a dozen local authors showed up to mingle & sign books. Gloria’s baked brownies & peanut butter cookies 🙂 And Radio spent most of the time curled up a chair in the middle of it all.
Our adoption event — with Buy Local, Kalamazoo Animal Rescue and Pet Vet Family Pet Care — was a blast. Lots of people stopped in, sweet cats & dogs and star of the show Samson (the big, sweet black cat looking wicked in the photo) found his forever home 🙂 Store cat Radio welcomed the visitors with typical grace.
What a great holiday party! We had a record 28 authors & illustrators here. That, combined with the region’s first snow, produced a wonderfully warm & spirited event.
Call outs: Bonnie Jo Campbell was hilarious for hours; Friends of Poetry were super supportive; SCBWI (Society of Children’s Book Writers and Illustrators) brought the funnest books 🙂 Thanks to all who participated!
What a great crowd! No surprise that this was one of the best attended and most enthusiastic program of the year. Two hours–long by our standards–still left the crowd wanting more.
What a weekend! Our 5th Annual Author Hop not only brought in authors from all over, but attracted readers and writers from all over, too. Here are just a few pictures from our bustling Saturday.
